As per requirements under the Environmental Protection and Enhancement
Act of Alberta, all geophysical programs shot on Crown Land require a field
inspection and application for “Letter of Clearance”. The inspection involves
the assessment of re-vegetation, surface plugging of any open holes (if
encountered), removal of seismic debris (if any) left by the crew, and the
assessment and correction of any environmental problems such as erosion and
flowing holes. In the event that our inspection personnel encounter areas
where the Forest Officer or Public Lands Official requires additional work, the
client will be contacted before any money is spent or work commences. A
Geophysical Site Condition Report and application for Letter of Clearance will be
completed and forwarded to the Petroleum Land Use & Reclamation Section of
Alberta Sustainable Resources, Public Lands Division on behalf of the client.
In the green area and site specific white zone areas, the inspection work is
done by (2) workers on 4x4 ATVs in radio communication with each other at
all times to meet OutSource Seismic’s and the Canadian Petroleum Safety
Councils’ safety guidelines.
